Toase (Ash), Feb. 13, GNA- The Reverend Father Michael Poku Twumasi, a priest at the Nkawie Anglican Church, has asked the youth to make this year's celebration of Valentine's Day as holy as possible without engaging in immorality.

Rev Father Twumasi recalled that last year's celebration, it was reported that there was shortage of condoms after the celebration and described the report as disgraceful and disturbing. He was addressing a number of couples at the Saint Peter's Catholic Church at Toase near Nkawie to mark the church's celebration of Marriage Week on Tuesday. It was organised by the Christian Fathers Association of the church.

Rev Father Twumasi explained that the real objectives of Saint Valentine had been defeated by the youth of the country as they use the day for sex and other immoral practices. Rev Father Twumasi said Jesus in one of his teachings said a man shall leave his parents and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh.

He told the couples that whosoever divorces the other except on the grounds of sexual immorality and married another, commits adultery. He therefore advised husbands to love their wives and vice versa just as Christ loved mankind.

He asked them to do family planning and invest in their children's education.
