Malaysian arrested for spitting on Ghanaian driver

The Chief Director in-charge of Marketing at Ghana Telecom has been arrested by the Police for spitting in the face of his Ghanaian Driver. Mr. Abdul Latib Tokimin spat in the face of his driver, Mr. David Akator, and called him an animal for reporting late to pick him up for work.

According to the Director of the Police Public Relations Unit, DSP Awuni, Tokimin would be charged with assault and insulting behavior soon after the Police complete their investigations into the case. Meanwhile, Ghana Telecom has suspended Mr. Tomikin with immediate effect as a result of the incident. A statement signed by the Managing Director of Ghana Telecom, Mr. Adnan Rofiee said the management of the company would not condone and encourage such insulting behavior.

It said it is the policy of Ghana Telecom to promote goodwill and a healthy relationship between the Workers and Management. The Statement added that Ghana Telecom would take further action against Tokimin after the Police complete their investigations.
