The Mamprusi Youth Association on Monday congratulated President John Dramani Mahama on his assumption of the highest office of the land.
A statement to the Ghana News Agency signed by Mr Faruk Mutachilu, spokesperson for the Association, said: “We the youth of Mamprugu will like to congratulate Your Excellency for assuming the highest office of the land.
The Association urged President Mahama to "put new wine in new bottles" and not old wine.
The youth, however, expressed concern about poor development in some communities in the northern sector of the country and urged the President to open up the appointment of leadership for development.
They attributed the lack of development in the area to old faces who were the front liners and yet brought no development.
The Association has Mr Zakious Tobila as President and Ms Jamila Rufai as General Secretary.
