Nkansah pleaded not guilty and was remanded in prison custody to reappear on May 13. Police Chief Inspector Benjamin Brew told the court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Siameh that Nkansah, a resident of Asin Fosu in the Central Region with other accomplices broke into the container shop at Boifiter, a suburb of Suhum at dawn of April 26. He said the accused and his accomplices, now at large, arrived at Suhum on board a Tico Taxi Cab at about 0200 hours armed with a crowbar, broke two padlocks used to lock the shop, and collected a whole lot of goods in the shop. A witness who slept in a Kiosk close to the shop saw them and shouted for help but the accomplices quickly boarded the Tico Taxi and sped off leaving Nkansah behind. Nkansah was however chased and arrested and some jewellery stolen from the shop was found in his pocket.
