The Ghana Police Service has arrested Newwel Gavu for causing damage to a monument and some signposts at the Airport roundabout in Accra.
In a statement issued by the police on Saturday, August 31, 2024, it indicated that the suspect is currently in custody.
“The Ghana Police Service today, 31st August 2024, arrested suspect Newwel Gavu for causing damage to a monument and some signposts at the Airport roundabout in Accra. The suspect is currently in custody and will be taken through the due process of the law," it noted.
The police praised members of the public for their vigilance leading to the arrest of the suspect. “We would like to commend members of the public and the Airport security for their vigilance, which led to the arrest of the suspect.”
The suspect, in the early hours of Saturday, August 31, 2024, was spotted destroying the statue of the Big Six at the Airport Roundabout near Airport Shell.
