Man beats wife into coma over GHC 200

Thirty-year-old (32) Elizabeth Ofori is currently in coma after her husband allegedly assaulted her after accusing her of stealing his GHC200.

According to her husband she stole the money to purchase a 'prosperity handkerchief' and 'favour oil' from an unknown pastor to help her resolve her spiritual problems.

The suspect, whose name was only given as Mr. Ofori, according to information gathered hit the wife with a club and also assaulted her multiple times until she reportedly fell unconscious.

The incident which occurred at Wassa Akropong in the Western region, caught the attention of some residents in the area who had to rush the victim who was bleeding to the hospital to save her life.

Mr. Ofori claimed the GHC 200 cedis which the wife used in purchasing the items, was meant for their upkeep for the next three days.
