Man before court for stealing X-ray machine

Suyani Dec. 5, GNA - The Goaso Magistrate Court in the Asunaso South District has granted a hundred million cedis bail to one Solomon Essuma, for stealing a three hundred and fifty million X-ray machine belonging the X-ray department of the district hospital at Goaso. He pleaded not guilty a charge of stealing and was granted bail to reappear on January 10 2007.

Prosecuting Chief Inspector Douglas Asaana told the court, presided over by Mr. Albert Zoogah that complainant is the Esunafo South District Director of Ghana health service whiles the accused is a casual worker of the department.

The prosecutor said, on November 13 this year authorities at the department noted that the machine was missing and confronted the accused about it.

He said, the accused, who was then on suspension for bad conduct towards the authority denied knowledge of the missing machine. The accused later on November 17 this year about 1000 hours called the complainant by phone that the machine was in his possession and would bring it to the department. Chief Inspector Asaana said the district director alerted the police and the accused was arrested with the machine, which was in a very bad state.
