Kwasi Nkansah, a taxi driver who accused his former girl friend of being devilish and dumped their sick baby girl in the bush instead of sending her to hospital has been arrested by the police.

A police source told the GNA, that on August 14, this year, Miss Aba Badua, 22, went to Nkansah at Tema Community One-Ashaiman taxi rank to collect money to enable her send their one-year-old child to hospital. The source said Nkansah after listening to Miss Badua, became angry, rained insults on her calling her devilish woman. He took the child from her, entered his taxi and sped-off.

The source also disclosed that Badua went to Nkansah at the station the following morning to enquire about the whereabouts of the baby and the latter told her that he had sent her to his sister at La, in Accra. She followed up to La, to ascertain the truth of Nkansah's claim but the sister denied ever seeing the accused and the baby. Badua in course of searching for the baby had an information from a friend that Peace FM had announced that a child was found in the bush near the Accra-Tema Motorway.

The informant who knows the baby rushed to Peace FM and identified her to be the complainant's. The Tema Community One police arrested Nkansah who bolted after the incident, on August 30 this year.
