Juaso (Ash), Oct 26, GNA - Abulai Ayoka, a farm labourer who could not control his sexual desire and took advantage of his employer's 11-year-old daughter to satisfy himself, has been handed an eight-year jail term in hard labour by the Juaso Circuit Court. Ayoka pleaded guilty to the offence.

Police Chief Inspector Kippo Iddrisu Mahama of the Juaso police, presenting the facts of the case told the court, presided over by Mr Jacob Boon that the accused was a farm labourer of the complainant who is the father of the victim.

He said on August 13, this year, the complainant sent Ayoka, victim and five others to his farm to harvest maize. The prosecution said while on the farm the accused lured the victim to a spot far from the others, pushed her down, covered her mouth to prevent her from shouting and forcibly had sex with her. Chief Inspector Mahama said after satisfying himself Ayoka cautioned the victim not to disclose her ordeal to a third party or risked dying.

Luck, however, eluded the accused two days later when the victim noticed blood in her urine and informed her mother who took her to a clinic at Breku near Asankare.

The victim mentioned Ayoka when a medical examination proved that she had been sexually abused. A report was therefore lodged at the Juaso police who effected the arrest of the accused. 26 Oct. 06
