The five months pregnant girlfriend and 5-year-old stepson were dumped in a pit
A man believed to be in his 30s Kwabena Tuffour has killed his five months pregnant girlfriend Obaa Yaa and 5-year-old stepson at Manso Adubiaso near Kwabenaso in the Manso Nkwanta District of the Ashanti region.
The District Disaster and Operations officer Amansie West District Appiah-Kubi Joseph who confirmed the incident to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo said the deceased Obaa Yaa and her son got missing from the community Friday May 4, 2018.
He said the incident came to limelight when someone told the traditional leaders in the community that he saw Kwabena Tuffour going to the bush with Obaa Yaa and her son that day.
The traditional leaders including community members then searched for Obaa Yaa and his son but they couldn’t find them after 2 days search.
The suspect is reported to have told Obaa Yaa (the deceased) to accompany him to farm so he can fetch her firewood but ended up killing her.
Kwabena Tuffour, a married man, went to sleep with Obaa Yaa who is mentally ill and got her pregnant and feeling embarrassed because he didn’t want his wife to know their love affair killed the lady and her son to cover up his criminal deed
During the search for Obaa Yaa and her son, Tuffour was part of the team pretending not to know their whereabouts. He was subsequently summoned by the traditional leaders but went into hiding.
Tuffour was however arrested by the youth and admitted that he killed Obaa Yaa and his step son and dumped their bodies in an old mining pit in a bush.
The suspect has been arrested by the Police, while NADMO officers, Fire Service and Police struggle to retrieve the bodies from the mining pit.
