A thirty-six-year-old man, Isaac Abayitey, has been beaten to pulp with his testicles removed by unknown assailants for allegedly stealing a knife belonging to a palm wine tapper at Nkurakan near Koforidua, in the Eastern region.

The victim is on admission at the Koforidua Regional Hospital.

Information gathered by the Daily Heritage indicates that the unknown assailants attacked the victim in his house on Thursday at around 7:30pm.

Sources indicate that the victim managed to escape from the hands of his assailants into a nearby bush; however, the assailants pursued the victim to the bush and beat him to a bloody pulp and later gushed out one of the victims' testicles and fled.

The victim was unconscious until the next morning when he got revived and managed to crawl to the roadside where he was spotted by passers-by who later informed the police to pick the victim to the Koforidua Regional Hospital for treatment.

David, brother of the victim, told the Daily Heritage that before the incident, one Opanyin Addy accused him of stealing his palm wine tapping knife and that the victim must return it else he would kill him.

When contacted, the New Juaben Municipal Police Commander, DSP Christopher Quacoo, said that the police are gathering information on the incident to aid the arrest of the perpetrator.
