A teacher whose name was given as Teacher Kwadwo has sustained severe burns after a lady, Owusua who he reportedly jilted, set his room on fire.
Narrating the incident to Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, our correspondent Abdul Malik said, the suspect who is now in police custody, dated and was impregnated by the victim.
However, the victim denied responsibility of the pregnancy and failed to cater for Owusua.
Owusua, acting upon an information that, Teacher Kwadwo was preparing to tie the knot with another lady on Sunday April 16, 2017, stormed his residence, quarrelled with him and left.
She allegedly returned at dawn when the victim was asleep and set the room on fire, Anokye said.
''It took the intervention of neighbours for the victim to be saved. Residents told me they saw a thick smoke coming out from the victim's room and so, they forced the door opened and asked him [Teacher Kwadwo] to come out,'' Anokye added.
According to him, the suspect has denied setting the room on fire but confirmed confronting the victim over his decision to marry another lady after impregnating and denying responsibility of the child. Meanwhile, the victim is on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
