They were reported to have made away with daily sales of the station after holding workers hostage according to the District Police commander, ASP Abanga.

The community had barricaded the road with the support of the police following exchange of calls by the Tumu police.

One of the suspects, Razak Samangnab told the police he was a trader and had gone to Wa to collect monies from his debtors but was exposed by a local resident who disclosed to the police that he saw him throw something into the bush.

A search at the location revealed a locally made pistol.
