Ghanaian young entrepreneur and founder of SHE Community, Phillippa Nana Owusua Prempeh has opined that the Ghanaian youth craves for a lot of emotional and psychological needs.

Ms. Prempeh expressed her opinion on the state of today’s youth and their future saying: “my major realization was that many of our young people are emotionally and psychologically needy”.

This because she was amazed at the level of problems some of these young boys and girls face.

“I believe there should be a way for them to speak up, created either by the government or their caregivers (guardians or teachers) before we end up as a nation with another bunch of bitter, frustrated, and confused generation,” she added.

She made this statement on Wednesday, October 10th at a seminar for students of St. Margaret Mary Senior High School in Dansoman a suburb of Accra on the topic “My Golden Age (Teenage).”

This forms part of her project ‘INNO TOUR’ (Innovation Tour), an idea she coined from her yet-to-be-launched Talk Show geared towards engaging students in some selected second cycle and tertiary institutions across Ghana on Personal and entrepreneurial development.

The INNO TOUR train took off from the campus of the African University College of Communications (AUCC) on 2nd October, and later moved to St. Margaret Mary Senior High School where about 200 students were seated for almost an hour and half to engage with Ms. Prempeh.

Communication they say is a 'two-way' discourse, thus, there is a sender and a receiver. After her talk, the students were also given an opportunity to share their stories and ask questions which was a very interesting segment with so many grievances that needed to be addressed.

SHE Community is a non-governmental organization whose aim is to promote entrepreneurship and development.
