Suspended General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party has indicated that after 35 years of the gruesome murder of his father, he has forgiven the perpetrators.
He thanked God for the Grace and strength to let go of the hurt and pain caused by the merciless killing of his father.
Kwabena Agyepong noted that "Its been 35 years of pain and struggle and we give thanks to God for granting us the Grace to forgive those who were sent to carry out this dastardly act. For the architects behind these gruesome murders, and they're still with us, May the almighty God grant them a remission of their sins."
The father of Kwabena Agyepong was one of three Justices of the High Court, killed in the after the Rawlings' revolution of 1981.
They were gruesomely murdered together with a retired military officer on June 30, 1982.
The three Justices, Justice Fred Poku Sarkodee, Justice Cecilia Koranteng-Addo, and Justice Kwadwo Agyei Agyepong (his father) are considered Martyrs of the Rule of Law.
In a short Facebook post on his wall, Kwabena Agyepong eulogised the late dad for the sacrifice, service and selflessness he attached to his work when alive.
"35 years ago today my beloved father and two of his colleagues of the High Court paid the ultimate price for their commitment to human rights, the rule of law and a fair and just society. Their crime? giving a hearing to our countrymen who had been violated by the excesses of the revolution." he recounted
He urged that "As we pay our respects to these Martyrs of Rule of Law let's rededicate ourselves to the ideals they died for. SACRIFICE SELFLESSNESS AND SERVICE to our beloved country Ghana."
