A 27-year-old mason has been held in the grips of police for defiling an 11 year old girl'
Yaw Attah the mason has been charged with four counts of defilement and has pleaded not guilty.
The court was presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku.
The Prosecutor, Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Adolphin Dzansi has said the complainant is a trader and a father to the defiled girl.
He further indicated that they all reside in Glefe a town close to Dansoman in Accra.
DSP Dzansi further indicated that the victim in August last year was playing with her sister when the the accused approached her and ordered her to follow him.
Although the victim decline to the request of the accused, he threatened to burn her with alight, which forced the victim to follow him as he had requested.
Upon the arrival in the room of the accused, he raped her and further threatened to her if she is to report the incident to anyone.
Moreover, on Novefmber 11, the defiled girl went out to remove a bed sheet from the dry line, and upon the sight of the accused, invited her to his room for the second time with the threat of burning her again with a lighter if she declines.
For the second time again, he succeeded in defiling her.
On January 2 and 23 this year, the accused had sex with the victim and on each of the two days, he compensated her with the amount of GHC 2.00.
However, the victim upon experiencing pains after the intercourse with the accused reported the incident to her mom.
However, on January 26, the complainant, who is the defiled girl's father reported the incident to Domestic Violence and Victims (DOVVSU) Support Unit at Dansoman.
A medical form was then issued to the victim to go for a medical report.
The police got hold of the Mr Attah on February 3.
He is however expected back in court on February 20 for further hearing
