A mason, Sampson Asare, 31, who was said to have defiled a 13- year-old girl, has been remanded by an Accra circuit court.
Sampson was charged for defilement but pleaded not guilty. He was, however, remanded to reappear on December 3.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Agnes Boafo told the court that the complainant, Samuel Omeri, is a carpenter and the uncle of the victim, while the accused person is a mason. They both reside at Omanjor.
She said in September this year, at about 1300 hours, the accused person saw the victim passing by. He called the victim in order to send her to buy him food.
She said, immediately the victim drew closer to him, the accused person lured her into an uncompleted building at Omanjor and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.
ASP Boafo told the court that after the act, Sampson released her to go but threatened her not to tell anyone about the act.
She said the victim later started experiencing pains in her abdomen and disclosed the ordeal to the complainant who in turn reported the matter to the police.
According to the prosecution, a medical report form was issued to the complainant to send the victim to the hospital for treatment.
Sampson was later arrested and detained for investigation.
