Match Report: Medeama SC 1-0 Karela United

An 8th minute strike from Kwame Boateng secured a vital 1-0 win for Medeama against Premier League new boys Karela United in the big Western derby on Sunday.

Former Asante Kotoko striker, Kwame Boateng rattled the back of the net after connecting beautifully from Agyenim Boateng’s sleek pass.

Karela United were the better side on the day but lack of killer instinct denied them at least a point at the Tarkwa and Aboso Park.

Karela will be encouraged by the away performance and can pick themselves up with many games to come in the season.

Karela are one of three newly promoted sides in this year's Ghana Premier League.
