Maxwell Konadu has reportedly agreed to take over Asante Kotoko.
Local media are reporting the Black Stars assistant coach has agreed in principle to take over the reigns of the club.
Konadu had earlier denied any link to the Porcupine Warriors but the Ghanaian media are refusing to accept.
Sources say club chairman Dr Kwame Kyei has resolved to break bank to bring the experienced gaffer back to Kumasi.
The club has appointed former captain Godwin Ablordey in an interim capacity after the sacking of Croatian Zdravsko Lugarosic.
Kotoko have failed to win a game in their last five matches after losing 1-0 at Wa All Stars on Sunday.
