Mayor Markets North at World Forum

The Mayor of Tamale Hannan Gundadow Abdul-Rahaman at the recently held World Investment Forum (WIF) held in Geneva, Switzerland succeeded in courting investors to the Northern Region.

A number of investors according to him have already expressed interest in participating in Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) Coordinated Investment Conference to be held in Tamale in mid March next year. This was after presenting a blueprint of the investment potentials of the North during his address at the world investment forum.

Briefing the media in Tamale on the prospects of his participation in the forum, the Mayor indicated that lots of people out there were eager to invest in various sectors of Northern Ghana.

It is for this reason he stated the investment conference is being organized in partnership with the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly according to him in order to avail exciting opportunities for the investor community.

The metropolis and the northern region as a whole he observed, was abound with several natural resources that required exploitation to inure to the benefits of residents of the metropolis.

He mentioned Gold, Limestone, Granite, Salt and Iron ore noting that the services of experts is required in mining these resources.

Mr. Gundadow added that there are still virgin areas in Agriculture, industry, real estate development and transportation investors could tap into.

The metropolitan assembly he hinted is prepared to assist prospective businesses within its domain with tax incentives, financial guarantees, improvement of infrastructure/energy and roads to make their stay up north fruitful.

Giving highlights of the planned event, he indicated that it would open the avenue for business oriented persons to exchange of business ideas with focus on Private-Private partnerships as well Public-Private Partnerships will be part of next year's investment.
