A mechanic apprentice in Accra has been stabbed three times in the head by his boss leading to his death in Accra, ABC News Ghana can confirm.

The report is based on the accounts of his colleagues and close friends who claim to have witnessed the events leading to the unfortunate incident at the workshop.

Reports monitored by ABC News Ghana suggest that the incident occurred last week Thursday after a brawl between the deceased and his boss.

Narrating the incident to an Accra-based media house and monitored by ABC News Ghana, a close friend of the deceased who only gave his name as Kojo disclosed that the alleged suspect stabbed his close friend and colleague in the head with a screwdriver.

He continued that he tried, together with another colleague, without success to calm the boss and prevent the tussle that resulted in the untimely death of his friend, Kwabena Sekyere.

“My master and my friend had parked cars they were working on close to each other but later my boss asked him to move his car so he parks there. Not long after that, my master moved his car backwards, scratching the vehicle my friend was working on. This resulted in the tussle. A friend and I tried to resolve the issue. When the scene got chaotic, our master retreated into his shop and unknowing to us he had gone to pick a screw driver. He thrust it into the head of my friend three times” Kojo recalled.

A visibly distraught Kojo says he still feels the pain of losing his dear friend though it has been days since he was pronounced dead on arrival at the 37 Military Hospital.

He asserts that but for his enlightenment on what the consequences of taking the law into his own hands, he would have perpetrated a similar act to avenge his friend’s death.

Even though the Ghana Police Service at Tesano acknowledged that such a case has been lodged with them, they were unable to provide details at the time of contact.

Kwabena Sekyere left behind a pregnant wife of 8 months and a two-year-old daughter for whose sake his friend, Kojo, wants the law to take its course and justice served.
