Media practitioners pay last respect to the late Nana Kodjo Jekrahuda

Hundreds of media and communication practitioners and well-wishers thronged the Ghana International Press Centre to pay their last respect to the late Nana Kodjo Jekrahuda Jehu-Appiah, former Head of the Home Desk of the Ghana News Agency.

The mortal remains of the late Chief Editor was laid to rest at the family cemetery at Mozano in Central Region on Saturday November 4.

Paying tribute to their departed Comrade, Mr George Ramsey Benamba, an Editor of GNA described the Late Nana Kodjo as a professional, who discharged his duties with a deep sense of humility and graciousness of attitude.

He said “indeed you always topped the productivity scale in matchless standard, thereby earning you the bragging rights, “Editor One; Boss One”, to which you delightedly responded, “One, One”.

He said GNA could not compensate him in monetary terms for his sterling professionalism and hard work, but “we can assure you that the GNA will forever carry your story, as having eked your footprints in the sands of time.”

He said the sudden passing of Nana had hit the entire GNA family like a tornado and devastated everybody, Nana, “you were to GNA, what Princess Diana is to England.”

The Ghana Journalist Association, through its Vice-President-elect, Mrs Linda Asante-Adjei also described the late Nana Kodjo as a gem that the Association had lost.

She said Nana was a hardworking, selfless, industrious and reliable journalist, who was very committed to his profession.

“You have impacted the media industry positively! Nana, your sense of humour, good nature and good works, will forever be remembered by all across the inky fraternity.”
