Media should concentrate on citizens not politicians - Otabil

The 6th edition of GMI came off yesterday at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, with Dr. Mensah Otabil emerging as Ghana's Most Influential citizen for the year 2015.

The general overseer of ICGC and the president of the Central University college was crowned Ghana's Most Influential person in 2014 and in 2015 due to his enormous contribution towards the development of Ghana; he remains the most influential person according to the Global Media Alliance initiative, GMI.

Delivering his acceptance speech, Dr. Mensah Otabil stated Tetteh Quashie as one of his influential people, according to the motivational speaker citizens need not accupy powerful positions before they become influential but instead, in their own ways they should impact their immediate surroundings and the country at large.

He charged the private sector of the country to dominate the economy to its full potential for it is by that there can be a positive change in the economy and in the lives of Ghanaians.

The 2015 Ghana Most Influential citizen also advised the Ghanaian press to concentrate on what the citizens are doing and not what the politicians are doing.

The night also saw the likes of Bernard Avle, Abraham Attah,Bishop Dag Heward Mills, Kwesi Twum,, Albert Ocran, Patrick Awuah, Stephen Appiah amongst others being named as influential people for the year 2015.
