Meet The New Leaders Of Asante Association

The newly elected Executive Council of Asante Association headed by Mr. Maxwell Prempeh, was sworn-in during the August 2004 association meeting at Fairlington United Methodist Church, 3900 King Street, Alexandria, VA. The President, Mr. Maxwell Kwame Prempeh, is an Information Systems Consultant with a leading technology firm in Rockville, Maryland. The Vice President, Mr. Simon Kwaku Owusu, is a Virginia based Real Estate Investor. Ms. Bridget Nana Dwomoh Braham, The Secretary, is a Program Analyst with the government of the District of Columbia and also, Real Estate Agent. The Treasurer of the association is Mrs. Phyllis Agyeman Duah, a fourteen-year employee of the State of Maryland, Human Resources Department. Nana Odietuo Asante, Cultural Coordinator, is a Washington DC Businessman. The rest of the Executives are Mr. Wiafe Akenten, Social Coordinator, Mr. Osei Anane (Alhaji), Publicity Officer and Obaa Yaa Boatemaa, Assistant Treasurer.

In September 2004, the coronation of Asantefuohene, Nana Agyenim Boateng and Asantefuohemaa, Nana Ama Achiaa (Mrs. Margaret Boateng Frimpong) was held at Candy Cane Park in Maryland. The coronation was followed by a dinner/dancer at the plush Capitol Hill Hyatt Regency in Washington DC. Nana Adusei Ampen, Omanhene of Tepa Traditional Area who came to represent, The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, chaired both events. The events were huge success and were attended by people from different walks of life in Washington Metro Area and representatives of member associations of Asanteman Council of North America (ACONA).

The Asantefuohene, Nana Agyenim Boateng is a CPA and has his own accounting practice. The Asantefuohemaa, Nana Ama Achiaa, owns B&M Boutique with her husband on South Pickett Street in Alexandria, Virginia.

Come and join the growing membership of Asante Association. The association meets on the last Saturday of every month at Fairlington United Methodist Church, 3900 King Street, Alexandria, VA. Please join us at the next General Meeting for a refreshing experience.
