The Minority chief whip, Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, has dismissed as fallacious claims that the minority is being remote-controlled by the former Speaker Doe Adjaho.

The majority leader Kyei Mensah-Bonsu Thursday alleged that Mr. Adjaho is behind the obdurate posture of the minority during parliamentary proceedings. “…The man is behind the scenes and still wants to control parliament.

Yesterday he even called them [minority] and was telling them that, when we were meeting the Electoral Commission they should not agree for the press to be present. That man thinks he is still in control,” Mensah-Bonsu told Starr News’ Parliamentary Correspondent Ibrahim Alhassan.

His claims come after the minority abstained from deliberations regarding the government’s planting for food and jobs program on Thursday.

In his reaction, however, Mr. Mubarak described the comments as “very, very unfortunate.”

“It is a shocking and surprising comment made by the current majority leader,” the MP for Asawase said on Starr Today.

“Is he purporting that we who are currently leading the minority are not capable and therefore we have to be controlled or have to be advised or taught what to do from outside? “That is very unfortunate and I think that his comment is very, very unfortunate because I don’t know whether he is the one the former speaker called or has he ever seen the former speaker coming around the House? This is very shocking. I mean is he also saying that all the things that he does he is being called by the likes of… maybe the president from the Flagstaff House?” he quizzed.
