Methodist Faith Healing Hospital Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Ankaase (Ash), Sept. 22, GNA - The Methodist Faith Healing Hospital at Ankaase in the Kwabre District of Ashanti celebrated its 20th Anniversary at the weekend under the theme; "20 Years of Progressive Healthcare Services".

The occasion was also used for the dedication of a multi-purpose Community Reading Library and to raise funds for the construction of a new Out Patients Department for the Hospital

Dr Richard Amo Tweneboah, General Manager of the Hospital noted that the success of a community hospital laid in the improvement of its services and the ability to sustain these achievements. He said the important aspect was motivation, good staff management, adequate human, physical and financial resources to ensure its success. Dr Tweneboah said the hospital could boast of over 100 qualified employees, including five doctors, 13 registered nurses, four midwives, a registered pharmacist, a general manager and an administrator. He noted that patient population in the hospital had increased tremendously with the introduction of the National Health Insurance Scheme and the free treatment for pregnant women.

The Most Reverend Dr Robert Aboagye-Mensah, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church in an address read for him, thanked the men and women who had the vision to build the hospital He commended the Missionaries especially Dr Cameroun Gongwer and his team for faithfully holding the fort and hoped that the strong bond of partnership and fellowship that the Methodist Church had with the Mission Society of the United Methodist Church of the United States would continue for a long time.

The Presiding Bishop commended the staff, past and present chairmen, General Superintendents, Bishops and the entire Clergy of the Church for their wonderful contribution to the progress, development and growth of the hospital. Most Rev. Aboagye-Mensah also commended the Management, Board and Health Consultant, Dr K. K. Marfo, whose direction and guidance had helped to develop the hospital.

Nana Butuakwa, Chief Linguist to the Asantehene who represented the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, called on the staff to put up their best at all levels without any discrimination or prejudices. Trophies and Certificates were presented to personalities and staff of the hospital for their outstanding contributions.
