Methodist Men's Fellowship urged to play leadership role

Anaji (W/R), Dec 29, GNA - The Men's Fellowships of the Methodist Church has been urged to initiate programmes to attract and sustain the interest of men in the Church.

The Very Reverend John De-graft Priddy, Minister in-charge of the Effiakuma Circuit of the Church, made the call at the annual get-together of the Men's Fellowship of the Circuit at the Christ the King Methodist Church at Anaji Estate near Takoradi on Tuesday.

He said that the Fellowship should play leadership role in Evangelism to win more souls for Christ and initiate income-generating activities to improve its financial standing to relieve the burden on their members.

Rev De-graft Priddy stressed the need in educating the members on topical issues including religion, health, economics and social matters to enrich their knowledge and to keep them abreast. He advised the executives to pay attention to the welfare of its members and those on pension, the sick and the needy within the Church and outside.

Mr. Samuel Adjei, Vice Chairman of the Effiakuma Circuit Men's Fellowship, said the various branches would be encouraged to undertake income-generating projects to improve their financial status as well as to provide employment for the unemployed and members on pension. He said a membership drive would be launched soon and appealed to the members to show keen interest in the activities of the Fellowship.
