Methodist Men's Fellowships develops website to promote activities

Kumasi, March 28, GNA - The Kumasi Diocese of the Association of Methodist Men's Fellowships, has developed a website dubbed www.kdmmf.org.gh to help to promote its activities locally and abroad. Mr Bright Osei Agyemang, the Diocesan Chairman, indicated that the move formed part of measures aimed at bridging the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) gap that had over the years hampered effective outreach programmes of the Association. He hoped the website would lead to the steady growth and advancement of the objectives of the Fellowships and Methodism in general. Mr Agyemang was addressing the opening session of the Sixth Biennial Conference of the Association at the Kwadaso Retreat Centre of the Methodist Church Ghana in Kumasi on Sunday.

The two-day event was being held on the theme: 93I Chose You and Appoint You to go and Bear Fruit and that Your Fruit Should Abide". It is being used by the Association to assess its performance with the view to strengthening its internal structures to realize the overall mission and vision of the Fellowships. The Diocesan Chairman announced that through the instrumentality of the Association, an umbrella body called 93Association of Christian Men's Fellowships" comprising denominations in Kumasi, who share similar beliefs and principles as the Methodist had been formed to enhance unity through joint programmes.

It comprises the Men's Fellowships of the Methodist, Anglican, Presbyterian, Baptist, Assemblies of God and the Pentecost churches. Mr Agyemang observed that as Christianity face considerable challenges due to globalization, it was imperative that Christians came together and shared ideas to ensure that the religion achieved the desired impact on mankind.

The Right Reverend Professor Osei Safo-Kantanka, Methodist Bishop of Kumasi, challenged the leadership of the Association to come out with innovative programmes to attract the youth into its fold. He said they should also endeavour to intensify evangelism activities to boost its membership base. 28 March 11
