Mettle-Nunoo attends 60th Session of Regional Committee for Africa

Accra, Aug. 30, GNA - Mr Robert Joseph Mettle-Nunoo, Deputy Minister of Health, leaves Accra on Monday as leader of a four-member government delegation to the 60th Session of Regional Committee for Africa in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

The session, from August 30 to September 3, is a roundtable discussion on 93Universal Access to Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care".


A statement issued by the Ministry of Health and signed by Mr Dan Osman Mwin, Head of Public Relations, said other members of the delegation are; Dr Frank Nyonator, Director of Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division of Ghana Health Service, Dr Sebastian Sandaare, Lawra District Director of Health and Mr Ahmed Mohammed, an Assistant Director at the Ministry.


He called on the Ministry of Education and the National Accreditation Board to design pragmatic mechanism for sanctioning private institutions, while the Ministry should ensure administrators and teachers in educational institutions maintained high moral standards.

Mr Leslie Tetteh, National Coordinator of GNECC, said GES in consultation with GNAPS should come up with clear guidelines to regulate operations of private institutions in the country and ensure the code of conduct for teachers.


He called on GES to make public the outcome of their investigation in the Lamptey-Mills issue without delay.


He appealed to the Attorney General's Department to investigate and institute the appropriate charges against Mr Lamptey-Mills.
