The Mfantseman Municipal Teachers Co-operative Credit Union has inaugurated a hospitality facility to help visitors to Saltpond secure affordable and decent accommodation.

Mr Samuel K. Annoh, the Central Regional Manager of the Union who inaugurated the facility, commended the union for putting up the building to house its offices and also to serve as a guest house.

Mr Annoh said some credit unions spent huge sums of money on renting accommodation for their visitors and that the guest house would save the union huge sums of money.

He urged credit unions to invest in income generating activities and also to introduce new products to their members.

Mr Annoh appealed to managements of credit unions not to regard themselves as having been placed there only to mobilise savings and grant loans but must also go beyond those roles with innovative services.

Mr Daniel Nanewortor, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Credit Union, commended the former Board of Directors headed by Mr Thomas Abakah for the good work they did to promote the union, particularly by initiating the building project.

Mr Samuel Owusu Kodua, Manager of the Credit Union, said they decided to put up the guest house as a contribution to solving accommodation problems visitors to Saltpond faced, especially, during festivals.

He urged visitors to the town to patronize the Guest House anytime they visit.**
