Mfantsipim to Honour Excellence

As part of the programme lined up for the celebration of the 125th anniversary celebration of the founding of Mfantsipim School the planning committee of the event has announced it would honour the general public and past students who have excelled in various disciplines.

It is hoped that the awards, the first of its kind by any school will immortalize the names of these honourable men and motivate the present and future generations to strive hard for excellence.

To be honoured in the field of religion is Rev. Gaddiel Acquah, John Mensah Sarbah for statesmanship, Prof K.A. Busis for community and humanitarian services, F.L Bartels for education and E.N. Teye Botchway for sports.

The rest are H.E. Kofi Annan for international relations, Dr. J.A. Addison for business, H.E. Michael Dei Annan for public service, Joe E. de Graft for applied arts, Dr. R.P. Baffour for science and technology and Dr. Alex Quaison-Sackey for meritorious award.

An independent panel of judges to evaluate about 80 nominees for recognition at the Banquet hall of the State House. They include H.E Mr Kwesi Armah a member of the Council of State, Dr. K.O. Armstrong Mensah, a consultant, Mrs. Sylvia Boye formerly of WAEC, Ms. Eva Lokko of the UNDP, Mr. Ashim Morton an architect an Mr. Boi Amporful a PR consult, Mr. Steve Karikari a PR consultant, Mr. Kwame Gyasi a lecturer and Major Abraham Sam MD, Plant Pool.
