Midland not Nyantakyi's – Aide

Sheikh Tophic Sienu, aide to former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, has vehemently debunked social media reports that Midland Savings and Loans Company belongs to his boss.

He has, therefore, asked the public to disregard any of such “false claims”.

Midland Savings and Loans Company caught media attention after a police officer was caught on video brutalising a female client.

Subsequently, social media has been awash with speculation that the embattled financial institution belongs to the disgraced ex-GFA boss, since, the undercover documentary that undid him, reported that he owned a savings and loans firm – albeit unnamed.

But Sheikh Tophic has denied there being any link between Mr Nyantakyi and Midland.

Speaking to journalists in Accra on Wednesday, 25 July 2018, he said: "It is not true that Midland Savings and Loans Company belongs to Kwesi Nyantakyi. It's just a concoction by the website and, perhaps, their imagination. It's sad that the website could go ahead and publish such a story without cross-checking the facts".

"The story is false, unfounded, malicious and wickedly geared towards causing further disaffection for the man," he added.

He continued: “Similar reports were peddled around a few days after the Anas exposé with claims that Nyantakyi is the owner of First Allied Savings and Loans. This is completely false and just an orchestration of some people trying to attract more hatred for Nyantakyi forgetting it could affect the companies involved,” he noted.
