Former vice President, Prof Mills has described as bizarre, circumstances under which the Government of Ghana is buying four helicopters for the Ghana Armed Forces. The four helicopters are to be purchased with part of a $55 million Barclays Bank loan approved by Parliament.
In an interview with the Insight newspaper, Prof Mills said the transaction lacked transparency and could not be in the best interest of the people of Ghana. “I am going to the Volta Region and when I come back, I will raise serious concerns for public attention and discussion. I don’t think that this transaction is in the public interest”, he said.
Prof Mills refused to elaborate for now but insists that his Party will not take anything lying down.
