Agona Obosomase, (C/R), May 24, GNA - Professor John Evans Atta Mills, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flag Bearer, has stated that the Party was determined to come to power to save Ghanaians from "economic hardships meted out to them by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP)".

He said: " Ghanaians are facing serious economic, social and political problems and it is only the NDC that can offer the antidote to these numerous difficulties encountered by them."

Speaking at separate rallies at Otabilkwa, Namawura, Amanfo Number Two and Obosomase, all in the Agona East Constituency, as part of his six-day tour of the Central Region, Prof Mills said when NPP was elected into office, it made numerous promises but it had not fulfilled those promises.

He stressed the need for Ghanaians to vote for the NDC, to enable the party to continue with its good works.

Prof Mills said NDC would not commit the same mistakes it made in the past, in order to bring the economy back on track to free Ghanaians from poverty.

He stated that even though NDC wanted power, it would not do anything that could disrupt the peace and stability the country was enjoying.

The NDC Flag Bearer asked people in the Central Region to vote massively for the NDC because it would improve their living conditions. Mr Samuel Adu-Yeboah, NDC Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona East, asked the electorate to be wary of the false politicians, who would come and deceive them with vain promises as electioneering campaigns approached.

Mr Adu-Yeboah promised that if the NDC were voted into power, all communities in the constituency would be connected to the National Electricity Grid.

Nana Kofi Otoo, Chief of Amanfo Number Two, Nana Kojo Buabeng, Chief of Obosomase and Nana Otabil of Otabilkwa, jointly pledged to rally behind Prof Mills.
