Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has hailed Aglow International Ghana for its intercessory prayers for the nation over the past 20 years.

“If we wake up to a peaceful country, we don’t have to take things for granted; we know Aglow International is praying,” she said.

Mrs Ofosu-Adjare gave the commendation on Monday in Accra when she represented President John Dramani Mahama at the opening ceremony of the 2016 Aglow International “Watchman on the Wall Conference”.

The conference, which coincided with the birthday of Dr Dorothy Danso, the President of Aglow International Ghana, was attended by participants from across the country as well as delegates from the United States.

She advised Aglow International Ghana to continue to be the watchman for the nation and to also protect Christian morals and values in the society.

The Minister bemoaned the spate of self-proclaimed prophets on the nation’s airwaves.

Mrs Ofosu-Adjare urged Aglow International Ghana to emulate Nehemiah in the Bible, who prayed and also took action to execute projects; stating that “God has a mission for us, and wants us to unite, pray, do His work and desire to build the walls of our country.”

Dr Danso, in her welcome address, urged the members to arise and pray for Ghana, Israel, as well as Africa.

She said this year marked the golden jubilee celebration of Aglow International, whereas the Ghana Chapter is observing its 20th anniversary.

Dr Danso was full of praise for President Mahama for supporting the activities of Aglow International Ghana.

Sandy Wezowicz, Aglow International Israel Education Director, urged the delegates to be watchmen over the whole house of Israel and for Ghana.
