The Ministry of Health (MoH) has asked the public to disregard a letter circulating on social media directing health training institutions across the country to reduce intake to 60 per cent.
The letter making the rounds, according to the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Tony Goodman, is fake and should be discarded.
Meanwhile, the MoH has issued a directive to health training institutions to halt the sale of application forms.
The letter, dated January 18, bearing the signature of the Chief Director of the Ministry, Dr Afisah Zakariah, said some institutions had violated an earlier instruction to stop the sale of the forms.
The director cautioned: “Principals and heads of all sales outlets are by this letter directed to suspend the sale of the forms until a letter from this office [of the director] authorises them to do so.”
The letter added that principals would be held responsible for breach of the directive.
