Minister to announce measures to bridge housing deficit

The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Samuel Atta Akyea, will on Tuesday update the public on measures government has taken to bridge the country's housing deficit, poor drainage, and improvement of slum communities.

The Sector Minister is expected to provide that useful information when he takes his turn at the Meet-the-Press series in Accra on Tuesday, May 14.

Mr Atta Akyea would also provide information on the government's plan to transform slum communities into modern habitats to improve the standards of living and gains made to forestall drainage challenges in flood-prone areas in the cities.

The Sector Minister would also update the public on coastal protection projects being implemented by the government to prevent the sea from eroding coastal communities.
