Ministerial Technical team to meet.

Accra, Oct. 15, GNA - The Ministerial Technical team meeting of the African Mining Partnership (AMP) begins on Monday, October 20, this year.

The meeting, planned to be opened by Alhaji Alieu Mahama, Vice President, would draw participants from Ghana, South Africa, Ethopia, Nigeria, Mali and Burundi.

Mr J. K. Smith-Amankwah, Public Relations Officer, Ministry of Mines, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview on Wednesday in Accra, that the formation of APM was Africa Ministers of Mines initiative. He said among others, the partnership aims at creating continental centres of excellent in mining.

Mr. Smith-Amankwah also said, "these centres are intended to become a made in African delivery mechanism for capacity building throughout the continent".

He said, South African Business Delegation, who are expected to attend the meeting would also visit the Obuasi Mines, Precious Minerals Marketing Company, Geological Survey Department, call on the Ministers of Mines and address a Ghana Investment Forum aimed at forging South Africa - Ghana Co-operation.
