Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has revealed that there are some ministers in the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) who were cash beneficiaries from Ibrahim Mahama, brother of former President Mahama when their party was in opposition.

Though he will not name the ministers in question, Bernard Allotey Jacobs added that some Members of Parliament (MPs) of the party were also constantly receiving cash from the businessman which facilitated their trips to their respective constituencies.

“It hurts me that my brother Ben Arye, his party people when the NDC was in power they used to eat from Ibrahim Mahama ….bigwigs in the NPP who are ministers today. They go there to take but today they see him as a demon. They take and go and spread because if they did not take it was not possible for them to visit their constituencies”, he revealed.

On Accra-based Adom Fm on Tuesday he laughed off claims by NPP firebrand and lawmaker for Assin Central Kennedy Ohene Ahyepong that he will kill himself if the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Engineers and Planners is not jailed.

“My friend Kennedy Agyapong said he will poison himself if Ibrahim Mahama is not jailed. In fact, the poison is ready; we will bring it to him live on TV where he made those comments for him to drink because I know Ibrahim Mahama is innocent. God will defend Ibrahim, he will be vindicated” he said in an interview on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Tuesday.

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has said that he is prepared to end his life if the brother of the former President, Ibrahim Mahama is not jailed.

According to the NPP MP, he would take in a poisonous substance if he escapes a jail sentence during the Presidency of Nana Addo Dankwa.
