Ministers to wear batik on Fridays

Government is in the process of implementing a policy that will see Ministers of State and Senior Government Officials don batik and tie and dye clothing to work every Friday.

The move is aimed at promoting the local market for the material and create avenues for the growth of the local textile industry.

The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Akwasi Osei Agyei revealed this at the inauguration of the Accra Metropolitan Co-operative Traders and Artisans Union in Accra.
