The Ministry of Health will take delivery of the first consignment of H1N1 drugs to treat KUMACA students, Mr. Robert Cudjoe, the Public Relations officer (PRO).

He was speaking to Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM hosted by Kwame Tutu.

Minority Chief Whip and MP for Asawase constituency, Muntaka Mubarak had slammed the Ministry for sleeping on the job.

He told Rainbow Radio’s Parliamentary correspondent that, it was a failure on the part of the Ministry for the absence of the drugs to treat students a week after it was confirmed that it was H1N1.

But responding to the concerns raised, Mr. Cudjoe said the Ministry will take the first consignment today for treatment of students.

At least 11 students of the institution have died over the last nine months with four of the deaths recorded within a week, from a disease that is yet to be named by health authorities.

Over 40 others have been receiving treatment at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Hospital.
