Kumasi, July 02, GNA - The Minority Leader in Parliament and member of Parliament (MP) for Suame Constituency, Mr. Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, has called on Christians to pray for President Mills to help in his quest to develop the nation.
Mr. Mensah-Bonsu said Christians play a key role in the development of the nation and charged them, therefore, to continue praying to God to give the President and his government the necessary direction to help achieve their set goals for the country.
The Minority Leader, was speaking at the 5th Anniversary Celebration and Thanksgiving Service of Calvary Love Chapel Assemblies of God Ghana at Bremang in Kumasi over the weekend.
He advised Christians to eschew partisan political affiliations and unite to seek the development of the nation, while also leading righteous lives to serve as role models for unbelievers. Mr. Mensah-Bonsu advised the youth in the Church to take their education serious since the growth of the nation depended mostly on the education level of the youth in the country. The Minority Leader cautioned the youth and the public to abandon the quest for getting rich quick through dubious means, saying that riches from such means are not sustainable.
The Rev. Sarpong Richard Thomas, Senior Pastor of the Pentecostal Life Chapel, also called on Christians to spread the word of God for other people to get to know God, so they could stop blaming previous and current governments of mismanaging the economy and rather pray to God to help change the situation. The Assembly member of Bremang Electoral Area, Mr. Obeng Poku, also appealed to Ghanaians to consider the nation as theirs and seek its welfare at all times.
