The Minority in Parliament has raised concerns about the appointment of former deputy Interior Minister Kobby Achempong as the new head of Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA).

The Minority lawmakers say Kobby Acheampong’s appointment won’t be the panacea to GYEEDA.

Mr Acheampong has been tasked by the president to restructure the rot-riddled programme.

But the ranking member of the youth and sports committee of Parliament, Annor Dompreh, in an interview on XYZ News said Kobby Acheampong could face challenges addressing the rot at GYEEDA because he is averse to advice.

He said the presidency must be serious about dealing with the challenges of GYEEDA by implementing sweeping reforms.

“You need a personality who is very calm, who has a listening ear to be able to unravel all these supposed mysteries associated with GYEEDA and seriously, to be frank, I don’t see that in Kobby” Mr. Dompreh said.
