...As Kumuyi Storms Ghana
THE MUCH-awaited Africa Wide Great Transformation Crusade, the first of its kind outside Nigeria by the Christian Deeper Life Ministry in conjunction with the Ghana Pentecostal Council and Charismatic Church in Ghana took off in Accra last Wednesday at the Independence Square.
The crusade, which attracted people from all walks of life, drew as well some top pastors in the country during the opening ceremony.
Preaching his first message for the five day crusade, the General Overseer of Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), Pastor W. F. Kumuyi, said sin was a big obstacle between man and the Almighty God.
Preaching under the theme: ?The Touch of Jesus? with Bible references from Matthew Chapter 8:1, Pastor Kumuyi said leprosy was a contentious disease and incurable in the olden days but with the faith demonstrated by a leper, he was able to receive healing from the Lord.
Apart from Mariah who was cured of her leprosy, no Israelite ever received cure until the faithful encounter with Christ, he said.
He noted that it was by the mercies of God that the leper who approached the Lord received his healing.
?No human efforts can help us nor can our goodness lead us into victory without the mercy of God,? he stated.
The world- renowned preacher said faith in Christ was the only weapon Christians needed to overcome their predicaments in life.
After the message, countless people surrendered their life to Christ, some crying uncontrollably during their encounter with the Lord.
When he prayed, to bring the curtain down on the day?s event, a number of people experienced the touch of Jesus and were healed of their infirmities. Both blind and lame came out to give testimonies about the healing they had received.
On the second day, the miracles recorded were simply unbelievable when the chance was given the congregation to testify before the audience. One spectacular testimony was that of a woman (name withheld) whose husband had died of AIDS.
According to the woman, after the death of her husband, she fell sick; when she went to the hospital, she tested HIV positive. However, after listening to Kumuyi via satellite in one of the African Wide Crusades held at Aba in Nigeria last year, she was touched by the word. She later went back to the hospital for a check and there was declared negative.
After he came, countless people testified to the glory of God for the healing and deliverance from their oppressions under the devil.
?I am completely shocked. What I have seen at this crusade is spectacular; it is unbelievable,? Careless Whisper told this reporter in irrepressible awe.
