A 26-year-old lady has been unveiled as an ambassador for Ghana’s Free Senior High School (Free SHS) program soon to be rolled out by the government.

Miss Africa 2016, Rebecca Asamoah was outdoored by the Ministry of Education and E ON 3 Group as the second Ambassador for government’s Free Senior High School program at the first ever Free SHS Health Walk and Campaign led by Hollywood actor and ambassador Abraham Attah.

Ms Asamoah who was delighted about her new role said “this is the time for the youth to stand tall, this the time for the youth to have the opportunity and go all out. Study because you are not only for the future of today but the future for tomorrow. I’m for youth empowerment and I am really elated”.

Head of Communications for E ON 3 Group, organizers of the event, Ms Francisca Kakra Forson said the Education Ministry and E ON3 will unveil more ambassadors in order for the Free SHS program to have an all-inclusive outlook.

“We will be outdooring more ambassadors who will fit the gender, who will fit the whole nation so that the young children can look up to them and aspire to be like them and even more. That was why first we started with Abraham. So every young Ghanaian, don’t stay at home, don’t sit in the house, get into school, study hard, take advantage of Free SHS,” she said.

The Free SHS program will be rolled out in September 2017. Free SHS will see the complete elimination of fees and other educational costs which hinder the entrance of qualified Junior High School graduates into Senior High School.

Ms Rebecca Asamoah emerged winner of the maiden Miss Africa Pageant held in Johannesburg in 2016 on behalf of Ghana. She is also Miss United Nations 2017.

Miss Rebecca Asamoah is an eloquent, gorgeous and an ambitious young lady who continues to scale higher heights because of her hardworking nature and compassion for the less privileged.

She works assiduously for youth empowerment to help build a stronger society.
