The Divisional Police Commander of Asankragwa, Chief Superintendent Vitus Napen, has disclosed that 10 reported cases of suspected missing manhood have been dismissed.

The cases were dismissed after medical examinations confirmed that the alleged victims’ genitalia were intact and medically normal.

According to a report by graphic.com.gh on October 28, 2026, he made the disclosure at a press briefing in Asankragwa on Monday, October 26, 2026.

Chief Superintendent Napen said the first case was reported at Wassa Dunkwa on October 17, 2026, with nine additional cases subsequently recorded in the division.

Wassa Dunkwa recorded six cases, Asankragwa recorded two, while Aboi Nkwanta and Breman recorded one case each.

He said the complainants alleged that their genitalia had disappeared after coming into physical contact with other people.

However, medical examinations conducted on all the complainants established that their genitalia were intact and medically normal.

The police commander added that preliminary investigations suggested that panic, anxiety and misinformation had contributed to the spread of the allegations.

He cautioned the public against making false reports about suspected missing genitalia, warning that individuals found culpable could face prosecution for offences relating to the publication of false news and deceiving a public officer.

Meanwhile, Chief Superintendent Napen disclosed that a mob attacked and vandalised a police patrol vehicle at Breman when officers arrived to rescue a suspect accused of causing a man's genitalia to disappear.

He said the mob smashed the vehicle's rear windscreen in an attempt to lynch the suspect, condemning the incident and warning that anyone who attacked security personnel or destroyed state property would be arrested and prosecuted.

Chief Superintendent Napen urged residents to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and allow the police to investigate such allegations.

He also appealed to chiefs, opinion leaders and assembly members in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality to intensify public education and encourage residents to report suspected criminal activities to the police for proper investigation.

Chief Superintendent Napen added that no arrests had been made in connection with the vandalism as of the time of the briefing, but investigations were ongoing to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
