Modern digital phone switch for Upper East Region

The construction of a modern 500 capacity digital automatic telephone switch for Upper East Region has been completed and will be commissioned in July.

In addition, all underground telephone cable systems in the Upper East West Regions are being replaced under Project Two of the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund, sponsored by Japan.

These were announced by Mr. B. K Anderson, Posts and Telecommunication Corporation (P&T), Regional Director for the two regions at a press conference at Bolgatanga at the weekend as part of activities marking World Communications Day.

Apart from the digital switch, a new microwave radio link had been provided for Navrongo through Nakong, Pina, JUmu, Han. Lawra, Nadawli, and Wa he sid.
