Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received yesterday, President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana and his accompanying delegation.

Sheikh Mohammed discussed with the visiting President of Ghana ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation and exchange of expertise in diverse sectors as tourism, oil and infrastructure, which Ghana has begun to upgrade and modernise in its capital Accra, especially after the discovery of oil and gas in the West African country.

President Mahama marveled at the spectacular progress the UAE is witnessing in various walks of life, citing Dubai's state-of-the-art and integrated infrastructure which set a role model for other cities of the world.

He expressed the hope that his country and capital Accra in particular would draw lessons from Dubai's development model and benefit from its human expertise and energies. He said that Accra airport, seaports, bridge and tunnel network, financial market and tourism, need similar development and modernisation on the model of Dubai and UAE in general.

Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State, Khalifa Saeed Salman, Director General of Dubai Department of Protocols and Guesthouse, Abdullah Salivo, No-resident Ambassador of Ghana to UAE, and Abdullah Yacoub, Consul General of Ghana in Dubai, attended the meeting.
