More Ghanaian muslim pilgrims arrive home

The second batch of 182 Ghanaian pilgrims arrived home on Monday from Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The pilgrims, who arrived on a chartered Nigeria Airways aircraft, were led by Mustapha Dawda, Member of the National Hajj Committee.

Alhaji Dawda told newsmen at the airport that the two Ghanaians who died during the pilgrimage had already been buried in Saudi Arabia.

He said most of the pilgrims were able to go through the procedures and worships associated with the pilgrimage without any difficulty.

Alhaji Dawda said the Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam and that every Muslim, once in his lifetime, should participate in it.

He said the third batch is expected on Wednesday on board a Ghana Airways flight from Mecca till Saturday when the last batch is expected to arrive.

They were met on arrival by Alhaji Mubarak Abdallah, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Hajj Committee.
