Accra, Sept 28, GNA- Two hundred and ninety eight (298) Ghanaians have been deported from Libya, on board two Libyan Aircraft. The latest batch to arrive at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) brings the total number of deportees from that country to 2,373 since August this year.

The deportees, who looked weary, unkempt and angry, refused to leave the Airport until they where given some money to cater for their transport to their destinations.

The Airport security officials managed to calm down tempers until the arrival of officials from NADMO.

NADMO officials, who arrived some hours later, explained to the deportees that contrary to what they (deportees) believed, the money they were demanding was from the Government of Ghana and not the Libyan Government.

The deportees were given amounts ranging from 50,000 cedis to 140,000 cedis depending on which region they were going to.
